O ministro de Minas e Energia, Fernando Coelho Filho, afirmou que não há risco de novos apagões no país após uma falha no sistema de transmissão da energia da usina de Belo Monte, no Pará, ter deixado cerca de 70 milhões de pessoas sem luz nesta quarta-feira (21).
O apagão começou às 15h48 e atingiu todos os estados do Nordeste, além de Amazonas, Pará, Tocantins e Amapá. Houve impactos isolados no Sudeste e no Centro-Oeste.

“Nós recebemos informações que uma tomada de carga de Belo Monte, que vinha operando em 2 mil megawatts para 4 mil megawatts. Essa linha saiu. No momento, a carga no país era de 80 gigawatts e o sistema perdeu 18 gigawatts, uma perda bastante significativa. Logo após o incidente a carga começou a ser restabelecida. Mas como a perda foi significativa isso leva um tempo, explicou o ministro.
