Com o cancelamento da MP de 19 de dezembro, volta a ter validade a legislação anterior que submete a decisão de aumento ou redução bem como a definição do percentual de reajuste ao Conselho de Ministros da Câmara de Regulação do Mercado de Medicamentos.
A Medida Provisória era polêmica, inclusive nem entre a indústria farmacêutica, que temia a perda de equilíbrio do mercado. Em abril, o tema inspirou audiência pública, promovida por Comissão Mista da Câmara, e o resultado não foi unânime.
