Projeto Pontal: “reivindicamos 2 mil hectares dessa área para assentar as famílias que estão acampadas aqui”, diz MST
epois de terem sido expulsos pela força policial no último dia 08, dos Assentamentos Dom Tomás e Democracia, na região do Pontal, município de Petrolina, PE, atendendo ação movida pela Codevasf, e após reocupação das terras, ocorrida na manhã de sábado, 26, os trabalhadores e trabalhadoras rurais passaram por mais um momento de tensão.
A polícia foi novamente ao local tentar retirar as famílias que lutam pela posse de parte da terra que tem mais de 30 mil hectares. Segundo Florisvaldo Araújo (MST), “as famílias estão mais fortalecidas e articuladas e não sairão do local.Reivindicamos 2 mil hectares dessa área para assentar as famílias que estão acampadas aqui”, afirmou.
Nesse momento os trabalhadores e trabalhadoras prosseguem construindo os barracos para abrigarem as mais de 300 famílias oriundas dos assentamentos Dom Tomás e Democracia, que resolveram se juntar em um só local para fortalecer a luta pela terra.
