“Se receber [ sic ] tais notas, os bancos, deverão chamar a polícia. O portador estará sujeito ao enquadramento no artigo 163 do Código Penal”, diz o texto, fazendo referência à passagem do CP que prevê pena de seis meses a três anos para aquele que destruir, inutilizar ou deteriorar coisa alheia.
Procurado pela reportagem, o Banco Central afirmou que as “cédulas com rabiscos, símbolos ou quaisquer marcas estranhas continuam com valor e podem ser trocadas ou depositadas na rede bancária”.
“As notas descaracterizadas apresentadas na rede bancária serão recolhidas ao Banco Central, para destruição. O Banco Central incentiva a que as cédulas sejam preservadas, afinal a fabricação de cédulas e moedas gera custos para o País e sua reposição elevará ainda mais esse custo”, diz o Bacen em nota.
