O senador Fernando Collor de Mello (PTC-AL) anunciou nesta sexta-feira (19) ser pré-candidato à eleição presidencial de 2018. De acordo com o UOL, a declaração foi feita em entrevista a uma rádio de Arapiraca, cidade que fica a 130km de Maceió.
“Tenho uma vantagem em relação a alguns candidatos porque já presidi o país. Meu partido todos conhecem, sabem o modo como eu penso e ajo para atingir os objetivos que a população deseja para a melhoria de sua qualidade de vida”, disse o parlamentar.
Na manhã do mesmo dia, o parlamentar participou de cerimônia de instalação do diretório do PTC no município. Ele também comentou sobre os planos para a eleição no evento. “Eu digo a vocês que esse é momento dos mais especiais da minha vida pessoal e como homem público. Porque hoje a minha decisão foi tomada: sou, sim, pré-candidato à Presidência. Obrigado e vamos à vitória”, afirmou.
O parlamentar já foi presidente do país entre 1990 e 1992, quando se tornou o primeiro chefe da República a sofrer impeachment. Em seu lugar assumiu Itamar Franco, vice dele à época.
