Após censura, a peça teatral O Evangelho Segundo Jesus, Rainha do Céu deverá voltar para a grade oficial de programação do 28º Festival de Inverno de Garanhuns (FIG), realizado pelo Governo do Estado no município do Agreste. A determinação foi do desembargador Silvio Neves Baptista Filho, que acatou um recurso do Ministério Público nesta quarta-feira (24). O Governo deverá cumprir a decisão em um prazo de 24h.
“A atração nada mais é do que um drama teatral, que busca conscientizar e estimular a reflexão sobre a discriminação social de uma minoria, especialmente das transexuais e travestis”, escreveu o desembargador do Tribunal de Justiça de Pernambuco (TJPE) na liminar, também fixando uma multa no valor de R$ 50 mil caso o Governo descumpra da decisão.
Inicialmente, O Evangelho seria encenado nesta quinta-feira (26), dentro da programação do FIG. No entanto, o enredo do espetáculo, em que atriz transexual Renata de Carvalho faz uma releitura de Jesus como se ele vivesse nos dias atuais como uma travesti, acabou incomodando setores conservadores que enxergam a peça como “um desrespeito a religião”. Nas redes sociais, a atriz chegou a ser ameaçada de morte.
O pedido de proibição veio de Izaías Régis (PTB), prefeito de Garanhuns. Tentativas de censura ao espetáculo também ocorreram em cidades como Jundiaí (SP), Salvador (BA) e Porto Alegre (RS), e no Rio de Janeiro, por ação do prefeito Marcelo Crivella.

Após a censura, o espetáculo foi abraçado por um grupo que criou a campanha A liberdade TRANSforma, encabeçado por Rodrigo Dourado e Chico Ludermir. A peça será encenada em duas sessões nesta sexta-feira (27), em local ainda não divulgado, no município do Agreste pernambucano.
