Um estudo publicado no periódico científico Journal of Pain concluiu que beber duas pints de cerveja (cerca de 1 litro) é mais eficaz no alívio da dor do que tomar analgésicos como paracetamol.
Pesquisadores da Universidade de Greenwich, no Reino Unido, analisaram 18 estudos e descobriram que a quantidade de álcool é capaz de diminuir a intensidade da dor em 25%, pois ao elevar o nível de álcool no sangue em 0,08%, o corpo reduz a intensidade da dor, segundo a revista Veja.
“A descoberta sugere que o álcool é um analgésico efetivo que oferece reduções clinicamente revelantes dos níveis de intensidade da dor, o que pode explicar o abuso de bebidas alcoólicas entre aqueles com dores constantes, apesar das possíveis e graves consequências a longo prazo”, explicaram os pesquisadores, em resumo.
“O álcool pode ser comparado a drogas opioides, como a codeína, e seu efeito é ainda mais poderoso que o do paracetamol”, disse Trevor Thompson, principal autor da pesquisa, ao tabloide britânico The Sun.
