Para celebrar as comemorações do Dia Internacional da Mulher, a Câmara de Petrolina realizou na nesta quinta-feira (08), sessão solene em homenagem às mulheres que se destacam em diversos setores no município.
De acordo com o presidente da Câmara, vereador Osório Siqueira , o objetivo da homenagem , foi reconhecer as iniciativas lideradas pelas petrolinenses, além de enaltecer a importante contribuição que elas têm dado ao município.
“Ressaltamos a trajetória de cada uma das homenageadas indicadas pelos vereadores, reforçando o papel da mulher na nossa sociedade, pois elas se destacam no trabalho, nas causas sociais, na família, sempre com dedicação, com carinho, com sensibilidade, características que são exclusivamente femininas”, frisou o parlamentar.
Além da entrega da medalha de honra ao mérito “Josefa Coelho” às homenageadas, durante a solenidade foram apresentados os históricos das integrantes desta edição solene da sessão alusiva ao Dia Internacional da Mulher. O evento também contou com a presença do prefeito Miguel Coelho, além de contar com a participação de todos os vereadores e autoridades convidadas.
A proposição da homenagem , partiu da vereadora Cristina Costa (PT), e cada vereador indicou uma mulher a ser homenageada neste Dia internacional da Mulher.
