O senador José Serra (PSDB-SP) defendeu uma eventual candidatura do ex-presidente Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva às eleições presidenciais de 2018 durante jantar promovido pelo presidente do Senado, Eunício Oliveira, há alguns dias.
De acordo com a coluna Radar On-Line, do site da revista Veja, o evento reuniu integrantes do PT, PSDB e PMDB. Os políticos defendiam abertamente a aprovação do projeto da lei sobre abuso de autoridade, que aumenta punições a procuradores e juízes.
O senador Jorge Viana (PT-AC) teria então dito que a implementação da lei não beneficia Lula, que está prestes a ser preso. Foi então que o Serra defendeu o ex-presidente petista.
“Não. Lula tem que ser candidato em 2018. Tem legitimidade”, disse o tucano.
