O Senado aprovou nesta quarta-feira (21), por 58 votos a 18, a indicação de Cristiano Zanin, 47, como novo ministro do STF (Supremo Tribunal Federal).
Primeiro indicado por Lula (PT) no atual mandato para a corte, Zanin é amigo do presidente, para quem advogou nas ações da Operação Lava Jato, e precisava do voto de ao menos 41 senadores (de um total de 81 integrantes da Casa) para ser chancelado.
Ele ocupará a vaga de Ricardo Lewandowski, que se aposentou em abril, e poderá ficar no STF até novembro de 2050, quando completa 75 anos, idade-limite para ministros da corte.
Antes da aprovação pelo plenário do Senado, Zanin passou por sabatina na CCJ (Comissão de Constituição e Justiça) da Casa, onde também teve seu nome aprovado, por 21 votos a 5.
A confirmação do novo integrante do STF ocorreu 20 dias após a indicação de seu nome pelo presidente da República.
