A Camara de vereadores de Petrolina, aprovou, na sessão plenária da última terça-feira (14), projeto de lei que obriga estabelecimentos comerciais, como supermercados, a informarem os preços dos produtos também em braile – sistema de leitura para cegos.
Pelo texto, o fornecedor deverá informar, em etiquetas em braile, o valor total e o valor por unidade do produto ofertado.
“É nosso dever, como representantes de todo o povo, incluir essa significativa parcela de consumidores na esfera de proteção legal dos direitos consumeristas”, disse Josivaldo Barros, autor do projeto..
O vereador , explicou que o texto do projeto, isenta as microempresas da obrigação de informar os preços em braile. Segundo o vereador, o motivo reside no fato de que um número muito grande de pequenos negócios em toda a cidade, vivem ‘na corda bamba’, e talvez não tenham condições técnicas e financeiras de implantar a nova medida”, argumentou o vereador
O projeto tambem traz punições para quem desobedecer ao que estabelece a Lei e, no caso de descumprimento da obrigação, o infrator ficará sujeito às penalidades previstas no Código de Defesa do Consumidor (Lei 8.078/90). Pelo texto original, o descumprimento da medida sujeitaria o responsável a pagamento de multa.
